What services do you offer? 

I offer a range of services designed to support your health and fitness journey: Personalized Nutritional Consultation, Personalized Workout Program, Lifestyle Coaching, and Mobility & Bikini Posing Guidance. All of these services are further detailed on the Services page of the website and can be conveniently purchased online.

 

What is body recomposition and why do I need it?

Body recomposition is about creating a healthier balance of fat and lean muscle mass in your body, which can bring numerous benefits for your metabolic health and physique. Why it's important: increased muscle mass = improved metabolism; making it easier for your body to maintain a healthy weight, which also means reduced risk of chronic diseases. On top of that, increased muscle mass gives you a better body shape, strength, energy levels, physical performance, and overall quality of life.
 

How long does it take to see results from your body recomposition program?

The time it takes to see results from a body recomposition program can vary highly depending upon your starting point, age, training age, goals, levels of adherence, and your metabolic health. Generally, initial changes, such as improved muscle tone or changes in body composition, given you have a good level of adherence to the program, may be noticeable within a few weeks typically around 12 weeks. However, more substantial results often manifest over a period of several months.

It is important to set realistic goals, and to focus on consistent effort, including regular exercise, a balanced diet, and adequate rest & recovery. Progress can also be measured in various ways beyond numbers. Meaning, it can also be measured in strength, endurance and overall well-being; feeling lighter, improved sleep quality, fitting in clothes better, etc. Each person's journey is unique, and patience, along with a commitment to the process, is essential for achieving lasting results.
 

I have tried other fat loss / muscle building programs but they didn't work. Can your program help me?

It is not uncommon for individuals to encounter challenges when trying to achieve their fitness goals, as various factors can influence results. My program is designed with an individualized approach, taking into consideration key elements such as nutrition, training, rest & recovery and lifestyle factors. I emphasize the importance of understanding your unique body composition, metabolic rate, diet preference, and personal goals, which can help tailor the program to your specific needs. 

It is also crucial to address any underlying issues that may have affected your previous attempts such as unrealistic expectations, lack of support, and/or inconsistency, which is the most common issue. 

I encourage you to explore my program and consider how it may align with your goals. Additionally, we can discuss any concerns you may have and how we can best support you on your journey to achieving lasting changes.  


Can you build me a meal plan on a budget?

Regarding nutrition, while my scope of practice does not include prescribing detailed meal plans, I can certainly provide guidance and structure around your meals. For example, I recommend aiming for a dinner that includes a good source of protein such as salmon, chicken, or beef, paired with a nutrient-dense complex carbs like rice, quinoa, sweet potatoes. Including a healthy fat source and vegetables can also contribute to a balanced meal.

Additionally, I can offer suggestions for healthy recipes, provide a list of ingredients within your budget, and also teach you how to calculate your macronutrient needs to help you achieve your nutritional goals. My aim is to support you in making informed choices that align with your body recomposition objectives.

 

Do you coach for bodybuilding competition prep?

I specialize in lifestyle coaching, however, in particular cases, I can help with novice and natural competitors with their bodybuilding preparation given they have received medical clearance to compete. Prior to starting our work together, I require clients to complete necessary bloodwork to ensure their health and readiness for competition. 

For bikini competitors participating in NPC and OCB shows, I offer guidance and support in posing techniques to enhance their stage presence. For male clients seeking posing assistance, I am happy to refer them to experienced posing coaches and bodybuilding mentors with whom I have previously collaborated.

 

I have a limited range of motion. Can you still design an exercise program for me?

Absolutely! I can design an exercise program tailored specifically to your needs, even with a limited range of motion. My expertise in personal training and Yoga uniquely positions me to create a safe and effective workout plan that accommodates your individual capabilities while helping you progress over time.

Understanding the nuances of your condition is crucial, and I will take the time to assess your current range of motion and any specific limitations you may have. This allows us to work together to set realistic and achievable goals. 

Incorporating principles from both personal training and yoga, we can focus on enhancing flexibility, strengthening the muscles around your joints, and improving overall mobility. Yoga, in particular, offers a gentle approach to movement that emphasizes breath awareness and mindfulness, which can be incredibly beneficial for anyone with restricted mobility. 

We’ll utilize modified poses and exercises that suit your situation, ensuring that each movement is comfortable and within your capability. As we progress, we can gradually introduce more challenging variations to help you gain strength and flexibility at a pace that feels right for you.

 

Can you tell me what supplements I should take and which ones to avoid?

When it comes to supplements, it's essential to choose high-quality, medical-grade options rather than over-the-counter supplements, which can vary widely in efficacy and purity. Medical-grade supplements are formulated to meet stricter standards, ensuring you're getting the nutrients your body needs without harmful additives.

Before deciding which supplements to take or avoid, it's crucial to understand if you have any deficiencies. The best way to gain this insight is through comprehensive bloodwork, as it allows us to identify specific nutrient gaps in your diet. As the saying goes, "we cannot monitor what we cannot measure," and understanding your unique needs is key to effective supplementation.

Do you do in-person coaching sessions?

Yes, I do offer in-person coaching sessions, but availability is based on demand. My personal training services primarily cater to the military families of Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico. To participate, clients need to have access to both gyms located on the East and West sides of the base.
